Coronavirus rules in Baden-Württemberg

last update: May 12, 2020

May 7, 2020

On Wednesday, May 7, 2020, the heads of the federal states met with chancellor Angela Merkel to discuss the further course of action in the COVID-19 pandemic. The government of Baden-Württemberg has now announced a package of measures that will gradually pave the way back to normality. All of us share the responsibility of ensuring that the spread of infection is kept under control. If regional rates of infection start rising once again, local and state governments will be required to reactivate restrictions on public life.

To ensure that our campus remains a safe place to work, we ask for your continued cooperation in making sure that social distancing and safety measures are observed.

  • In districts or cities with more than 50 new infections per 100,000 inhabitants, restrictions must be implemented within seven days
  • In the event of a localized and clearly definable occurrence of infection, for example at one of our institutes, restrictions apply only to the institute concerned

Easing of restrictions

We have listed the most relevant measures below. Please note that the current restrictions on social interaction will remain in place until June 5, with one exception: members of two different households will be allowed to meet in public spaces starting May 11.
